Philanthropy Indaba is a unique consultancy that creates exclusive, customized field trips, journeys and service/internship opportunities to enhance philanthropic initiatives through experiential learning.

Whether it is across town, across the country, or across the world, we develop philanthropic travel experiences for individuals and small groups to go out into the field and gain tremendous insight and understanding on critical issues, local challenges, theories of change and models of success. These experiences can be integrated into a broader educational program, in partnership with trusted advisors.

 

Local Field Trips for Individuals and Families

Our field trips are a fun and accessible way for an individual or family to learn about the critical issues facing local communities near where they live and to find great organizations with innovative solutions.

These field trips are customized for a client’s interests and objectives and are within a comfortable travel distance from their home base. Discussions are hosted on-site in order to understand the issues, the organization’s theory of change, execution of the programs and measurement of impact.

 

Philanthropic Journeys for Individuals and Families

Philanthropic journeys are real learning adventures which take place nationally or internationally. We work closely with clients to customize their journey to suit their time frame, interests, objectives and can include tourism activities, if desired.

Our network allows us to identify a variety of vetted projects around the country and the world which address many critical issues such as health, education, poverty alleviation, and cultural preservation. We can also build in activities such as several days of volunteering and include other local activists and leaders into our discussions on the ground. We’re happy to think creatively about how to make this journey a truly meaningful experience.

 

Service/Internship Opportunities 

Our internships are not ordinary volunteer opportunities: these are exclusively crafted with non-profit organizations and for-profit social enterprises to ensure a deeper understanding of critical issues, theories of change, execution of programs and measurement of impact through direct contact with the key leadership in the organization. 

We set the stage for an unparalleled experiential learning opportunity through in-depth exposure and an active exchange of perspectives with the social entrepreneurs and the communities they serve.
